newbie help please
hi there i am starting a project this weekend and need a little advice.
i have a 1995 v6 mustang, given to me by a friend motor is going and i am going to stick a built 5.0 in it.. it is going to be a toy and i know i should just go buy a gt, but i am ahead of the game on parts and it was a free car. so if i can get a little help here, this is my first for and want to do this project right.
here is my motor
The block is 91 roller block w/ 0 miles on the build
bored .020" over,
honed w/a deck plt.
Keith Black hypereutectic pistons w/floating pins,
400 Chevy rods w/ARP wavelock rod bolts,
stock crank ground .010/.010"
Probe main stud girdle.
Pistons are 100 grams lighter than stock TRW's, the chevy rods improve rod/stroke ratio from 1.6 to 1 to 1.85 to 1. Perfect for a high revving N/A motor, 304 cu. in., valve reliefs are for std inline Ford Windsor type head, NOT for Twisted Wedge heads
here is a donor car that was also given to me
1986 Ford Mustang . She has a 5.0 HO motor with 5 speed transmission, runs great
i dont really care if i go n/a or efi witch ever is easier
my questions are as follows
car questions
will the stock tranny in the 95 (5 speed) hold the power of the new motor?
can i use the 86 tranny instead?
how much if anything can i use off the 86(radiator, tranny mount ect.)
motor qusetions
should i use stock 5.0 heads and have them machined or i can pick up a set of machined 351w heads ready to go
what kind of horsepower should i get out of this motor?
i know its a huge project but it going to be done so if i could get help i would appreciate it
thank you for the help
