Default PCV Question

The PCV valve fits into a plastic insert in the back of the intake. What or how does the plastic insert seal to the intake? When I bought the car, the plastic insert just slides out very easily and I thought this could be a vacuum leak. The PCV seals to the insert fine, but I would say the the insert to the intake...no seal.

Default RE: PCV Question

Mine was really loose too, i bought a new one and it fit snug. My guess is it just shrunk with age but i'm not sure.
