What is the widest tire you can put on an 8.5 inch rim?

275's will fit no problem....width will interfere with inner fenderwell once it exceeds what the backspacing allows

So then what about the quad shocks? I've heard of people flipping them. Would getting new rear control arms solve spacing issue? Then how wide can you go?
