is it ok to cut outer fender lip
Ok i just got my rear end back from DTS with a wilwood disk brake kit put on, and i put 15x8 weld prostars on with 275/60/15 m/t et street radials. Also i put ebiach drag springs in and strange 10 way adj. shocks. Because of the wilwoodbrakes the wheels had to be spaced out 5/16" when i pulled out of the drive way and made a right turn the springs were so soft that the outer fender lip kinda of a pinch weld i guess cut into the rear tire totally destroying the left outer part of the tire. my question is that i ordered 255/60/15 m/t et street radials from summit but they are still about as wide as the 275's. Is there a safe way to trim that outer fenderlip with out harming the structure of the car? Or am i totally screwed because it is unsafe to cut it? And does any one know who would do this around the metro Detroit area?

your problemprobably isntwidth, its the height of the tire, but either way this is how you do it.No, do not cut. You need to roll your fenders. You can do it the right way or the other way which works just as good. The right way is to rent the tool from a auto parts store. Or you can use a bat. The inside of the fender has a lip about 1" wide, that's what you want to roll or bend up.

I understand that its a combo of both but how does the height affect it cus its on the outer part of the wheel where the side wall is. but ok so like a murrays would have the tool?

because if the wheel was shorter it wouldnt hit.
if you see the diagram he posted the metal lip is facing the rubber. if you roll the fender, the lip will face up, so if the tire does touch it, it will not contact the edge

yeah that seems to be a problem also because the springs are so soft that make the car roll when u take turns even under 10 mph. But im also getting another air bag for the left side so that it will be stiffer on the street .

Roll it, baseball bat works great too if you can't find a roller. In some areas it's nearly impossible to find a roller. Width does have a few things to do with as does height. What's killing you is the spacer. If it wasn't for that then you would be fine. But just roll the fender and you wont have any problems, lots of big tire guys do that including myslef.
