Default Wiring up distributor

Ok so my dad is swapping in a carbed 5.0 from a 1983 mustang into his 87 and mostly everything is done but we need to know how to wire up the distributor. It came with the motor and it has 3 wires coming off of it. The colors are Brown, Orange, and Black. I'm assuming black is the ground but where do the other 2 go? He said something about it being made in canada, i dont know if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance for any help

Yes it looks like that. But the connector on the end of the wires is gone. must have been cut off.

Ok, i THINK i have this wired up right. I have a switched 12v to the Coil positive side, I have a constant 12v and ground to the ignition module, and both coil and distributor are hooked up to the ignition module.

there are two connectors on the box.. the one with two wires red / and white = red to switched 12v and white needs to be grounded and the connector with 4 wires is for distributor and coil neg side...you do have the 4 wire one wired correctly I assume???
