Default My mustang is wierd!

OK all heres the interesting history of my stang lol... its a 1993 LX model now according to the vin it should have a 5.0 but it doesnt.... car fax has no history reports of anything other then it being a 4 cyl.... now what hits me as odd is if someone pulled the v8 they took the time to put in everything 4 cyl.... the speedomoter only goes to 85 the exhaust is 4cyl ummmm everything except it has the 5 lug rear end from a v-8 and no VIN numbers have been changed..... also under the hood every sensor that moves from 4 to 8 cyl ahs been and the old holes are unseeable.... as in the MAP sensor and stuff like that are in the propler 4 cyl place with no holes from where it would have come from.... another thing thats odd is the radiator fan everything is stock 4 cylinder land...... now someone explain this one lol .... ive got a few theories but theyre out there in paranoia land lol.... so any ideas also doesnt this make my car a easy conversion to a V-8 ?

Weird that the vin reads that it is a 5.0.. The V8 doesn't have 5 lug wheels in the back, so that doesn't mean anything other than someone changed it to 5 lug in the rear. It sounds to me like it has always been a 4cyl car. Changing to a V8 is not an easy task, good luck what ever it is you plan to do.

Check good on the body of the car and make sure the VIN plate was not switched onto that car.

Check the VIN and then check the ID TAG. That is a metal tag that is stamped on the inside of the front fender to the left of the headlight. It should read the last of the VIN and if it is the same then I would check the VIN at another location.

Get the VIN and type it into here

http://www.triplewhitefox.com/mustang/vinDecoder.htm

That should help you out alot. Tell us what you find out.
