Ya remember when I wrote that thread about how my car had 370 hp. Ya I was wrong I forgot about the 15 % loss through drivetrain and everything my bad. Its prolly around 280 RWHP. What you guys think ? Cept that motorused 1.6 roller rockers, heddmen headers, and rpm intake. (-Mine has the rpm "air gap" intake 1.7 RRs , and hook super comp headers-) </P>

I read an article that hashed about that drivetrain loss. For FWD manual they figured 15%, for RWD it was 17%, and for autos a lot higher.

Even with 15% loss, 280 hp is only 322 at the crank.

If you had 370 hp at the flywheel x 85% would be 314.5 rwhp. Still higher than I would think it would be. 280 at the wheels sounds about right, that would be around 330 hp at the flywheel.</P>

oh yea and <SPAN class=bold>mdvaldosta my friend had a 1984 capri 5.0 with only JBA headers and exhaust and he would smoke stock fuel injected 5.0s all the time. They dont run like 86-95 or whatever on 6 cyl they run pretty good</SPAN>

Those are the stats on your friends motor stock. Hmmm 139 hp? Even with headers and exhaust I doubt he could smoke a moped. If I were you I would try to be carefulabout disagreeing with me.</P>

Well with only headers and exhaust his best time was a 15 flat no lie! There not 2 barrols lol And it was 175 hp @ 4200and 245 lb-ft @ 2400 4v. Yes down about 50 horspower"rated" but they still could run... just like my friends did. so dont <IMG src=smileys/smiley19.gif border="0"> </P>

Where did you find the figure of it making 139 horsepower anyway. The motor with some exhaust mods such as headers and other things brought the horsepower up to 205 they just didnt do it that year but a little later.
