Default question on exhaust

i have an 89 lx with trickflow stage 1 cam and bbk shortys, o/r h pipe dumped to glasspacks..i love the sound but i got a great deal on 2 brand new flowmaster 40 series mufflers a guy is selling them to me for 50 for both..question is should i ditch the glasspacks on put on some flowmasters.. would it better or worse in the performance range for glasspacks compared to chambered mufflers,,advantages/disadvantages.....

thanks

flowmaster > glasspacks. some people don't like flowmasters because everyone has them, but i still think they sound good. definately better than glasspacks.

Can you put up a sound clip? Im curious to see what your current setup sounds like. I have the same thing with Flowmaster Delta 40s ( idk if youre going to get reg 40s or deltas..? )

Flows sound good, but some of them can be really restrictive as mufflers go. If you want the best flow with a muffler that's not retardedly loud then look at Hooker Aero Chambers. That's what I run, and they're rather mild at idle and cruise, but pretty loud when you open it up, and they're a straight through design with very little restriction.
