electric fan coversion 30 amp?

I did a search and found this article http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2...an/index.shtml
Only problem is that I can`t find a 75 amp relay and I don`t want to change the alternator like it recommends. I have 3 amplifiers in my car for my stereo so I don`t want a high amp electric fan. I wanted to know what electric fan draws 30 amps and what would it come out of exactly. The Taurus is 75 so I don`t want it. That way I can use a 30 amp fuse, relay, ect. My car isn`t 600 hp or nothin so a high powered fan is not needed. Is there a 30 amp fan that fits well?

i got a taurus fan and i used a 30 amp relay, and a 30 amp fuse. this worked fine for about 3 weeks, but in the last few days ive been blowing fuses when starting up the fan. i don't know what the problem is. the biggest relay i can find was a 30 otherwise i would have gone bigger.

The Taurus fan draws too much amps at start up. That`s why, if you read the article above, you need a 75 amp relay. That`s why you blow fuses and that`s why I am requesting info on a lower amp fan. If not, is there a place in the Taurus in the fuse box with a 75 amp relay that you can take out for the fan?

Yes, that is the correct one. I also use the taurus fan but I think it would be wise to upgrade your alternator especially since you have a high power stereo system
What amp alt. do you have now? That factory 75-80amp? Those units are barely enough as it is.

I don`t want to use the Taurus fan cause it draws too much juice. I don`t want to have to change the alt. right now. I think mine is stock?? Money is tight and Alt. + fan + relay + fan control + etc. =$$$$ I just decided to go to Car Quest and order a $28 flex fan. I may do this mod in the future but right now the only reason I thought about it was because my stock fan is cracked real bad and breaking. I am afraid the sucker is going to come apart. Pick the flex up in the morning. Thanks for the help and I would still like to know where to find a low amp fan and what to get it off of.
