Default Intake shenanigans (choosing parts)

Im looking at top end stuff, and i THINK i found the cam i want.

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...p;autoview=sku

its 50 state legal with a CARB number. Range of 2000-5500. seeing as i think ive had the car past 5500 maybe 2 times since ive got it, that sounds good to me

I was PLANNING on the edelbrock RPM II, but ive noticed the RPM 1 is "Idle-5500" as opposed to "1500-6500" and its also almost 100 bucks cheaper

the question at hand is, is the RPM II worth it, or should i just get the RPM 1

or should i get a different cam to match the II?

id say go with the 1, unless you launch at idle.

Keep in mind that's a 1.7rr cam(which I think I forgot to mention in the other thread). Either intake would work well. The intake I was running was the new Weiand Action plus(8124), which is listed as idle-5,500rpm and it made power everywhere with that cam and would pull up to 6,500. I have the engine out to replace the crank right now, and it needs an intake gasket, so I'm swaping my RPM Air Gap on to see how it does, it has plenty of bottom end already, so even if I do lose any I doubt I'll notice. If you don't plan on turning over 6,000rpm then I'd say go cheaper and get the RPM I. If you want more top end then you could go with the RPM II and a bigger cam if you don't mind spending money on one. I went with that cam cuz I was trying to keep the budget tight and plan on a solid roller cam/stud rocker swap later on. I needed something that would work well now with the 1.7rr's I already had.

A im gonna be using AFR 165's

B thats cool, my friend is running the same intake, and a crane with 1.7's and has BBK tall valve covers with no spacer, its tight, but it fits, but ill just cut the baffle out of some short ones, and tack in a little thing over the opening to cover it up alot of the way to keep oil from splashing out
