under the car, on the passenger side of the tranny there are two 1/2" (ithink) plugs
the lower one is the drain, and the top one is the fill/max level plug

3/8" square drive plug. If fluid comes out its full unless it come flying out then its too full. The usual consensus is that if you can feel fluid when you stick your finger in its good. I usually go with fluid being level with the bottom of the plug.

oh btw you mentioned gear oil, do NOT put gear oil in a mustang t5, that is for the REAR END gears. most ppl around here use ATF or Mercon
i use mobil 1 synthetic ATF for my 5speed

Oh really?
I didn't know that. I have synthetic gear oil in it now. I'll drain it and refill it with GM Sychromesh.
