1987 5.0, manual, fresh built motor, mass air conversion, E cam, 93 cobra intake, BBK cold air, 24lb injectors, 24 lb maf sensor, lots more..... It fired on the first turn and after getting the timing close the motor finally started to smooth out.(I was guessing it took the new A9L computer a little while to adapt to the changes) Then the headers started to get cherry hot after a few minutes at idle so we killed the motor. Now I can not get it to fire back up. There is spark and the fuel pump is sending fuel to at least the fuel rails, but after turning over a bunch and pulling plugs they seem dry. So not sure I am getting fuel delivery.... There is power going to the injectors. Could it be an ecu problem? I'm open for suggestions.

if the headers started to glow cherry red..most likely due to retarded timing..... the dizzy may be off a tooth or two or timing is off

try cranking it to start it while turning dizzy one or the other way

What should the timing be set at on that motor? A friend thought 10 degrees. Would being slightly off make the car not fire at all? I will try to make adjustments tomorrow and see how it goes. Thanks.
