RE: Honda Guy Turned Mustang guy with questions
I don't think he is a moron but I planned on a compression test before I actually bought the car and also a leak down to ensure the rebuild is actually correct and not a head ache someone is wishing to get rid of. And the Giggle Juice. Its easy to say no to that when you are a past addict that kicked that habit about 2 years ago. Very bad habit to get in.

I am looking to purchase if my offer goes through a 1993 Mustang 5.0. Car has a new motor that he says one of the valves allows a little blow by causing to smoke at WOT and use a bit of oil. (Car has 36,000 miles on it but the motor has been rebuilt and used the heads that were on the old engine) So my question is if I replaced the head I have been told to just rebuild it then put an E303 cam in the car. Do I need to do the lifters with the 303 Cam?
I was looking online at fully assembled heads in the neighborhood of 500-800 for it. Basically I am not looking to drag race the car, street race the car or be Johnny Stunt driver every where. I want to drive the car in the Summer and just enjoy a reliable driver. Would it be better for the budget I am in to just rebuild the factory heads or order an out of the box bolt on.
With a bolt on I am told there is alot of calculations that goes into getting the correct one for the car. Basically I just want a factory replacement and the car will have your basic modifications. (I/H/E). Again not wanting a race car or fastest product for the buck. I just want an engine in good working order with all the correct parts.
Again car will never see Nitrous, a Turbo or Supercharger nor bea weekend warrior. It will be mine to drive during the summer to work and back and maybe a late night weekend drive a time or two. Like I said I am coming over from the Honda world where I had pretty good luck and ran across this car and always like these years along with the Milage and the condition the car is in. I will probably have more questions but this is all I have now.

Its not 36,000 miles. I can read an odometer and do trust the person here locally. I know the history on the car, just not on the recent rebuilt motor. (Due to Nitrous usage on the factory motor.) Not my first Rodeo with cars and check their history. We have a smaller community than alot of scenes so its easy to find out dirt on anything and anywhere.
