Default MSD box mounting location

Ok feeling lazy here (didn't want to do a search) and I want to narrow it down a bit so here goes.

Those of you who have your battery under the hood still, where did you mount your MSD box? Also if you mounted it in the interior how mcuh noise do they kick out? I am doing my 6a this weekend and before I commit to a certain location i'd like some feedback/suggestions. I'm leaning towards under the seat but wouldn't the MSD interfere with the ECM on the passenger side? I'm thinking a spark box putting out high voltage running the lines near the ECM may not be a bright thing to do, maybe I'm over thinking this though lol.

the box itself doesnt put out that much voltage i think. it requires 12v to run and i think only spits out 12v to the coil, the coil charges up to 45,000 though. the box just controls the pulses of current to the coil, i think youll be ok if its under your seat.

here is how i have my box mounted. i made a custom bracket from some sheep metal i found in the street. took me about 10 minutes to make the bracket. as far as heat goes, it doesnt get hot. after running the car for a long time i can still bare hand the box with no problems. its been mounted there for a while and no malfunctions

I like the way lucky mounted his. I plan on moving my battery to the trunk and mounting a MSD on the inner fender where the battery currently resides. FWIW< you should have no problems mounting it under your seat. A buddy of mine documented his install on his site. Check it out. I am sure you will find it helpful!

i plan on mounting mine under the passenger seat. i was going to do the fenderwell thing, but i had problems with the battery relocating. for some reason my car didnt like the battery being that far away from the front. i used 2 guage wire, but it just seemed like it struggled to get the juice on start-up.

you need a "0" gauge wire or a "00" that's why....the 2 gauge isn't enough unless you have a 1000 amp battery
