I think I've found them both. Are both of the bolts square? My drain bolt is on the side (not underneath like in the write up).

EDIT: the write-up was on an s197.

RE: Tranny old change
If you haven't already, just buy a suction gun. They're handy for all sorts of other projects and they're only like $20. I use mine all the time.
Also, its totally possible that someone replaced your extension type plugs with pipe plugs with an external square. They are pretty much the only things on the side of the transmission that you can take off.

Bummer dudes. I can't get that drain bolt out for love or money. I got the filler plug out without any problems. But that drain one just isn't spinning. Any tips on getting it out?
Oh...I removed the filler plug, was old fluid suppose to come out of that? None came out of mine.

righty tighty, lefty loosey . Put the socket on the plug, then what i've done is use a 1" box-end wrench on the end to get a little more leverage. You could also try spraying some penetrating oil/ WD-40 on the plug and letting it soak for a little while. Also, no fluid is supposed to come out of the filler hole.

Just wanted to end the thread on a good note.
Thanks to all who chimed in with advice and tips. Oil changed. I drained the oil which was really dark and only about 1 1/2 quart come out! Looked like motor oil [&:]. I replaced it with some GM Synchromesh and so far so good. The car always grinds going into 3rd, but it seems that after the oil change it's not grinding as hard. I'll run it some more and see if it goes away.
Also I decided to go with tmuti13 method for adding the oil. It just seemed like less of a hassle rather than tearing down the console, shifter bezel, boot, shifter.
Thanks again.
