Default Tranny oil change

Does anyone know about how much oil is required for an manual t5 5 speed tranny oil change? And are there any recommendations of oil to use? I was thinking GM Synchromesh of Royal Purple Synchromax.

Im running GM Syncromesh. That tranny shifts so damn smooth. My brother has atf in his (03 gt with tr-3650) and its hard as crap to shift granted it was rebuilt and I think incorrectly. The GM Syncromesh is some sticky stuff (found that out the hard way) I never heard gear whine. Id recommend it. You can get it from a GM dealer.

Can it be poured in from the top of the tranny from where the shifter goes? I understand there are two bolts on the right side of the gearbox. One for oil drain and the other for max level. I was going to take the max level bolt out and keep pouring until it comes out of that hole. Would that be too much? Should I get a suction gun?

i have gm stuff in mine and it helped make the whine in mine go away and yes you can poor it in from the shifter. pull the fill plug and poor it in till it starts dribbling out the hole then put the plug in and rtv the shifter and your good to go it take almost 3 quartsand i think the gm stuff is like 8 bucks a quart its also recommended by tremmic/borg warner for our transmissions

I think the easiest way to pour the fluid in is to get some airline tubing from home depot and run that to the top hole from the engine compartment then pour the fluid in until it drips from the top hole. I use royal purple syncromax, but i also hear good stuff about the gm synchromesh. not really sure if one is better than the other.
