5 speed trans
I got a five speed out of a mustang getting ready to be crushed. The trans was in backseat so idk if its to that car and i wanna know cause the car was a four cylinder and i want the trans to be for my 5.0. How do i know if it will work for my 5 liter mustang. Is it a t-5 or not and will it hold 365 horse?

RE: 5 speed trans
post a pic..there should be a tag on it....but personally I can look at the input shaft diameter tip imediately and say it's a 4 popper or 5.0 one due to size difference= 4cyl small..5.0 larger

MJR is right, look at the end of the input shaft, and measure the length cause even with the bigger end it could be from a 94+ which would mean the shaft is about an inch longer.
BUT I also thought that a stock T5 was only rated for like 300hp? I might be wrong on that though.

So does anything need to be changed to use a t-5 from a 4-pooper on a 5 liter?

Yeah You use the clutch from a 5.0 because they use the same spline count but the pilot bearing you need to get one to fit. I Have a few of them because MY carquest is a little lacking on the bearing department! Mine takes alot of abuse and is still kicking!
