hi my gt ground effects keep coming loose. i have tried 3m tape, super glue, everything. any ideas?

is the area you are applying the 3m to cleaned/prepped well w/ alcohol, or of another substance?-- i've got a saleen front, xenon sides, and xenon rear--- mine are held on by 3m-- no probs... They're coming off soon though.

I had the same problem until throughly cleaned the door and ground effect after my car was painted. Cleaned both surfaces really well with alcohol and the 3M tape has held them in place ever since.

yes i cleaned everything good, even sanded to the metal still wont stick thinking about running the gt front end and leave the rest lx. might look pretty good. would be diff.

gt front end wont look good without side skirts it will be lower than everything else. you dont want it sanded to the metal either you want some primer or paint on there. clean good with alcohol. your 3m tape isnt years old and sat in bad weather or anything right? make sure its not cold out when you do it also

You mentioned you evensanded the metal, are you talking about the thin metal stripon the backside of door ground effect?

3M also make a Adhesion Promoterif you haven't already tried that.

I'm confused... are you talking about the actual ground effects pieces? or the molding strips?

All of the ground effects pieces are held in place by rivets, brackets, &/or screws in some cases double sided tape is added to hold more. Nothing should be held in place by tape alone. (well other than the molding... i fixed mine with JB Weld & didn't even prep it)
