Default Phenolic spacers

I am going to port my upper and lower intake manifold and was wondering are these phenolc spacers worth the $$$. I know that help cool the intake charge, what are some other benefits?

well if youre like me, i get nitty gritty when it comes to mods. i need to have every mod, so i bought a heat spacer and the difference is very marginal. like i always say, even though you dont feel a single mod by itself, together they all make a difference. thats why i ***** my car with mods. and eventually when i get heads ill be ahead of the game!!

I have 1" on my track heat. As said above I doubt you will feel a difference. But iam sure it will be worth a couple of HP on the dyno when added with ohter mods, ssuch as boost.I am also running 8#'s with an S trim.

besides cooling the upper manifold, it also moves the power higher into the rpm range. if you have gears it will help more cause it will put more of you power up top where the gears like the engine reving at. before the spacer the manifold was too hot to touch, after, i can bare hand the upper manifold for a few seconds after a long run so the upper manifold is noticeably cooler

i cant tell a damn bit of diffrence with or without mine- other than more clearance for the intake/injectors. my intake is tight on the injector wiring harness without the spacer so i run it. watch out cause it might cause some clearance issues if you dont have a cowl hood.

it moves the power range up a few rpms that is it. plus helps cool off a good bit

you definitely have to be careful with the thickness of any spacer as it can lead to clearance problems under the stock hood with the top of the intake manifold. I would measure what clearance you have now before I bought anything.

Thats true...i had to put a 1 incher on my trickflow street heat because i had to make clearance for my throttle body springs. Then, i noticed that the under lining of the hood was rubbing on the intake so i had to take the whole lining off. But with it off it fit fine.
