on a stock motor no!! wait until you have a build with the need for a better ignition system and stock ignition is capable of putting out sufficient voltage for mild builds on a 5.0

nope not really...when supercharging , using NOS, or turbo or greatly increased compression from stock and I'd think about better ignition, I went from a 9 to 1 motor to an 11 to 1 motor in a previous build and that's when I added msd ignition to support the increased demand for a hotter spark at higher rpms and compression
