need help with axles
hi i have a 7.5 rear end out of a aerostar that i am pulling the right side shaft out for my mustang. two problems i dont know how to get the shaft out and also the drums on the aerostar and the mustang are two diff. sizes can i take th back-plate and all off the aerostar and put it on my mustang? thanks for your help.

Remove the inspection cover off the housing, remove the bolt that holds the pin in (5/16" socket,wrench), remove the pin from the carrier, push axles inward toward chunk, and remove c-clip. Pretty simple. If the axle from the Aerostar and Mustang are the same length and they both are 7.5 rears [:'(], swap them out. I would use the Mustang drums though. Instead of all that why not put an 8.8 in?

The Aerostar 5 lug, is the same as using the Ranger rear for a 5 lug conversion. But the ranger uses 9" drums so it is a direct swap to the Mustang's 9". He didn't say what is car has, he might already have the 8.8 just doing a 5 lug conversion?
