Default 2 dumb questions

1 i am changing the oil pump and dont know where to put the jack to jack up the engine. the engine mounts are out and everything.
2 how hard is it to put a shift kit in a aod. any special toolS?

I usually take a piece of wood and jack the motor up on the bottom of the crank pulley. Do you have access toan engine puller? That would make the job a lot easier. As for the shift kit, I can't help you there. I never put one in. I can't imagine it is that difficult.

I think you will have problems with changing the oil pump in the car (alot easier to pull the motor). I've never changed one in the car before but pretty sure you want have enough room to get the motor high enough to remove the oil pan. lol. and yes the Harmonic balancer is the only place to jack it up.

The shift kit should be straight forward exchange, no special tools that I know of.

thanks you guys save me alot of time. i starting to jack it there but then stopped because i didnt want to snap anything. maybe if i take out the tranny i will have more space.

in theroy,,,you really should use an engine cradle from above and lift it that way
