Default FRPP Valve Covers...possible fitment issues

I have the motor out of the car right now and it's going to begetting a good cleaning and paint job. I have had my eyes on the FRPP Valve Covers that are black with silver fins on them and have the Mustang lettering on them (see them HERE). I really want to get these for the motor, but before I spend $150 on them, I want to make sure they will work with my future plans.

A couple questions before I purchase them:

1) will I need an intake spacer using stock heads and intake? If yes, how thick do I need?

2) when I upgrade to AFR or TF heads, will these valve covers clear the 1.6 or 1.7 rockers?

Thanks for the help!

i have similar ones with ford racing on them and they fit fine under the stock intake plenum. you should only have to worry if you are using a larger intake, if so, which one?

i had those same ones on my stock heads... the throttle plate bracket rubbed the top of them, had to eye out the bracket holes Prolly due to TFS intake...later i put TFS heads on and they wouldnt clear the stud mounted rocker arms, I think it was because of the oil baffle inside the cover. I ditched them and bought TFS valve covers, TFS covers have to be drilled to put in oil fill tube

I have 1.6 rockers btw

They won't clear a cobra intake, the linkage will bind bady.

They cleared my big rockers without any problems and they fit nicely under my track heat intake with a 3/8 spacer plus they look great

you'll be fine and when you upgrade in the future just buy a 3/8 spacer and you can buy extra thick valve cover gaskets if rockers pose a clearance issue

Thanks guys for the help!

My ultimate goal is to get either AFR's or TrickFlow heads with a Trickflow intake and run 1.6 or 1.7RR's.

Thanks 1991LX5.0 for the pic, that is the exact setup that I am planning on doing on my car.
