Not sure about getting up to 70...
I took my high volume out after I rebuilt my bottom end... I get about 45psi at idle, which is about 400-450rpm (x303 cam) about 55psi while cruising & 60 at higher rpm... All of these #'s are while it's at operating temp.
I have about... 3000 miles on the rebuild, replaced the crank with a used one ground .010 / .010 on rod/main. replaced rod/main/cam bearings.
Hope that helps....

dumb question but what weight of oil are you using??? and 45 is normal for idle 50-60 when ur running it hard
the motor requires 10 per 1000 rpm which u already no but at idle with a mild build you should rock about 45

to day i was running her pretty good and when i stopped it was at about 35 at a redlight, when im on the highway she does about 53+. and when im setting in the drive way i get the 10 per thousand. keep in mind that this motor has 1372 miles on her it was a new pickup tube. im running 10-40 but switching to 20-50 today. im in south florida so it always hotter than #alls down here and im gonna run lucas as an additive.

you live in S. FL--- and man i live in NW FL--- i just recently swapped over to Royal Purple 10w 30..... and ya'll are talking about the idle/ oil pres. density... At idle (warm) i'm at 35'ish and cold idle i'm at like 45'ish.... When i get on it, it shoots up to 60... And i use 7qt's + Lucas oil stabilizer and every 3 oil changes (which a oil change a yr with much as i drive it) i add Restore....
10k miles ago when the motor was being built (just mods listed below)... the mechanic was like "damn,,,, motor looks clean". thought that was funny
