Keith Craft Crate Engines

Keith Craft Crate Engines
Does anyone here have any experiance with Keith Craft Crate engines? They seem to be a decent price? I'm sure its a subjective question, but do you think I could build the same ones myself for cheaper? In particular i'm looking at the "331 Econo" or the "331 Standard". I want to add a supercharger eventually so is this not a good route for me? Also, what can you tell me about the quality level of the parts used? Their site says they use SCAT, Eagle, Mahle, SRP, ect.
Thank You

RE: Keith Craft Crate Engines
Evan Smith, one of the technical editors at Muscle Mustang and Fast Fords magazine runs a Keith Craft engine in his Project Stocker NHRA stock class Mustang drag car and he's set the national record for his class with it several times over the last few years. He has had many good things to say about Keith Craft for what it's worth. You could save some money assembling an engine yourself, but you would still need to buy a good stroker kit and have all the necessary machining done by somebody like Keith Craft. And if you plan on supercharging it, you should go ahead and build it up front with the right compression ratio for the SC so you don't have to go back in and change it later on IMO.
