Default BBK clutch Quad adjustment problems

Ok, I bought this
LINK
and installed it with my new spec stage one clutch, but I cannot figure out how to correctly adjust it...I followed the directions but it seems if i leave it loose enough that it is not riding the throwout bearing when i'm off the pedal, the cable is too loose and pops off the quad... i can't seem to make it tight enough so that it does not pop off the quad, and it seems if i made it tighter then it would be applying the throwout bearing even with my foot off the pedal. any help???? do i need to get a firewall adjuster or am i doing something wrong???

well, there are a couple ways to adjust the thing, down on the clutch fork, that takes some tweaking, i have mine about in the middle of that jam nut on the threads, if you have an aftermarket cable as well, and if you use the firewall adjuster, you need to use the right hook for it, i can't remember which one, i think it's the one closest to the firewall, i have a fire wall adj, and that actually adjusts the play at the top of the peddle, and if you adjust down by the clutch, that will help with where it engauges off the floor

If you look at the pic in the link he posted, it's a single hook quadrant. Your statement above is incorrect. The engagement of the clutch has nothing to do w/ where the cable is adjusted from whether it's adjusted from the firewall or the bottom of the fork. The end result is still the same. There's really no point in having both an adjustable cable and a firewall adjuster. They both do the same thing only adjusted from different points.

You need to adjust the cable so there is almost no slack in the cable. You have it too loose and that's why it keeps popping off the quadrant. You want 1-2 inches of toe play in the pedal.

Seems like the groove in my quad is not quite deep enough to hook under the tabs, not sure why, but thats the case, so i am going to do that and I also know i have to make the cable tighter
