Who all makes them? I just got 3.55's for my 86 GT and I know the posi is pretty sloppy in the rear so I fiqure I better rebuild it.

Thanks

I live in Southern Ontario. I assume you live in the States? It would be easier and chieper to get one from the local parts store rather than shipping it across the country. thanks for the offer though!

how hard is it to rebuild one of these? do you have to drop the axle? i'm assuming that you have remove the whole posi unit, gears and all?

yea basically. gotta remove the whole unit, rebuild it and re install it just as you would be doing gears except no work on the bearings. still need to have the gears properly aligned which is tricky.

Summit's rebuild kit is the ford one, I put both in my Mustang and Bronco with Tracion-Loc. All you have to do is pull the axles and pull the clutches out. Search the forums, I did a huge write up on this a while ago.
