I spoke with Brian at THR he can send me a 347 stroker ingine w/ Trick Flow track heatheads / stage 2 cam / complete long block minus the oil pan and the upper and lower intake assembledfor $4078.00.

What do you guys think? I can pull my engine whole and replace it totally for 4 grand..

Sounds like a plan to me..

Anybody have any better ideas?

I've never bought a long block but do some shopping around and let reputation and customer service play a part in your decision making. I would rather pay a little more to people i can trust than save a few dollars with poor service after the sell.

I've never dealt with THR but have read from some of their customer's experience. Unfortunately when running a business youwill always hear much more from theunhappy customers than you do the pleased customer's. Dont make any rash decisions. This ismajor decision and you want to take your time and do research, in a while i'm sure you'll hear from folks on this site who can tell you their great experience's with certain engine builders. Woodsy has brought up some very important questions you should be asking the engine builder.

get you a dart block first off then put you an engine together once you get that stock block 347 going you will want more HP and you will end up cracking that thing, might as well start off right

you can put a dart block 347 together for undre $6K if you do it right and do some of the work yourself

might as well go 351 based if you use a stock block

I am going to be calling THR in a bit, these are the questions I will be asking:

I know I will be getting the trick flow package but what are the:

1. What CC are the heads?
2. What will the compression be?
3. What crank?
4. What rods?
5. What pistons?
6. What pushrods?
7. What Roller Rockers? 1.6 / Stud mount?
8. What lifters?
9. What kind of gaskets will be used?
10. I know it will have a stage 2 cam but what is the lift?
11. WHAT IS THE WARRANTY?


Can anyone think of anything else?

ask about valves, oil pump, pump rod, rings, bearings, balancer,etc, you will want to have this balanced with your flywheel also, def let us know what you find out, and remember you are still using a STOCK BLOCK,

i went this route and wanted more get you a dart and be done with it, $2000 of cheap insurance on your investment plus can beat on it as much as you want to
