Tuning questions
I've got a 95 5.0 with: afr 165's, TFS intake, unknown cam (in it when I bought the car wrecked), 30lb injectors, matching maf, adj fuel pressure reg., 255lph pump, full exhaust, and most of the other bolt on norms. I was dissapointed with the track times I ran with a 9.0 (1/8th) being my best of just 4 passes with a 2.09 sixty foot. I have already made plans with a local shop for a tune, but was curious as to what increases anyone here has seen on cars with similar setups after a custom tune. Any info would be helpful, thanks...

RE: Tuning questions
well first off, you need tires. every tenth of 60 foot is worth 2 tenths ET(1/4 mile anyways), you should be able to cut a 1.6 sixty right now.
a 9.0 is like a 14 second 1/4
w/ better launch you should run 13.20's , and a tune can get you some amazing results i'm sure, if they tweaked another 40 hp, your in the 12.80 range where u should be

RE: Tuning questions
you need to heat them better, and drop to about 20 psi
i've never used nitto's and heard mixed feedback on them. i use nothing but mickey thompson, i have tried just about everything over the last 18 years of playing 5.0's and the only other good tire imo is the hoosier quick time pro. but they are only bias-ply like the regular et street.
i use mickey et street radials and have no probs cutting 1.7's all day long. this year i'll dip into the 1.6's for sure.

RE: Tuning questions
I agree I need to heat them better my attempts in the bleach box were sad. I blew the tires on into second gear, and now I think the tranny is due for some work, it's a bitch to find third gear on a hard shift....

so that being said, once you get that tune, you'll more then likely be making more power then i did so between that and your drag radials you can kiss that T-5 goodbye.
theres my 2 cents, take it for what its worth
that 95gt was such a pain in the ***...but man do i miss that car
