I'd say concentrate one one at a time. In this case the temp. Did you ever get the temp sending unit? If the wiring is good to it then I'd say it's going to be faulty or you're very low on coolant, check the rad when it's cool (also turn the heat on when engine has been running a while & see if it blows hot to check to see if it's all the way full)

Other than that it's going to be in the wiring or sending unit. You said you replaced the gauge?

As always I'd check the wiring first so you don't have to spend $.

I personally don't trust the stock ones anyway first upgrades i always recommend is aftermarket mechanical oil psi & water temp gauges.
I just put the coolant sender in today and the gauge moves now, but it only went to the line above 130 The needle was just touching the L in normal after a 30min drive. Is it possible for my needle to be off a bit since I took it off and reinstalled it?

Bump for some help, thanks. Does anyone know how to read the temp with the senders output to see if the gauge is getting the message??

is it possible you have a bad t-stat that's stuck open not allowing vehicle to reach operating temp???

t-stats are cheap and easy to replace....wait until vehicle has sat overnight and without starting it in the morning remove t-stat and see if it's open....if it is most likely it's bad then.. or pull it ou and sticj it in freezer and see if it closes and then boil it whil monitoring temp and see hwen it open = should open at 195..if it opens way soon like at 130 or so then it's opening to soon and it's bad in that sense

I may throw one in to be safe because it can either be the guage or the t stat. is there anychance you could walk me threw the procedure, Also will there be any coolant coming out or will it be too low in the system to flow out of there?
