brake booster should be hooked to vaccum tree and from there ...there will be numerous hoses connected to manifold vaccum sources which supply vaccum to booster..as long as no hose is plugged it should work.. there is also a 1 way check valve on the booster..it pushes into the rubber grommet on the booster..check that and you should be able to only blow in one direction through it..or suck in one direction
