torque box reinforcement
i noticed the other day when i was installing my clutch that i had a crack in one of my lower torque boxes so i ordered the jegs torque box plates to reinforce them. i noticed that the lower control arms and springs have to be removed. why cant i just weld the plates on to the boxes with the lower control arms attached to the car?

i was wondering why the instructions would say that you need to, it seems kind of odd to do alot of work for nothing. did any body follow the instructions or does every body weld them on with the lowers attached

these are the plates that im talking about, ive got to do it monday so i just want to make sure that i can weld these on with out removing the lower control arms or should i stick with the instructions and remove the springs and control arms? also, if i weld these in place will i be able to install a battle box at a later date?

you dont have to remove anything - well I did not and I just welded the type you are talking about along with the thpe PRO50SC is talking about along with massive subframe connectors and I had the full suspension bolted in and torqued to spec while all welding occured

Battle boxes and torque box plates and full length subframe connectors with welded seat plates, none needed suspension removal, the battle boxes simply needed a bolt taken out and immediately placed back in. The way I have done it you would install the subframe connectors last, I wanted to see how it would work to install them on top (or underneath as it were) the torque box plates... since the sub frame connectors themselves had a built-in half plate... worked out beautifully I must say. Best of all
