Default 89 lh mustang

my name is wayne i am using my buddys forum to ask a couple of questions, i have a 89 lh convert 5.0 the work done so far includes bbk intake,75mm throttle body, bbk shortys, bbk h pipe w cats 40 series flowmasters, aurburn trulock diff, 4:10 richmond ring&pinion, subframe connectors, king cobra hd clutch with bbk adjustable quadrent and cable, frpp aluminum driveshaft, hurst short trough shifter aluminum water pump, bbk under drive pulleys, msd 6al ignition 6000 plug is in, i never got a chance to run it at the track with this setup, i was wondering if ne body would have a guess on a 1/4 mile et and trap speed because i could never get past tech because a crack in the windshield it has no problem chirpin 4th
now for the real questions.......... i stripped it down and sent that old tired 5.0 to a local machine shop, its gettin a full forged stroker kit 331 most likely, i plan on either a procharger or vortec blower, my question is i want to use afr's 205cc race heads i need ideas on a top end kit but im dead set on using afr heads, im tring to make some serious hp & torque ne comments are greatly appreciated i would like to have a mid to low 11 sec convert all feedback will be read asap thanx

I dont know man the AFR205's are big heads and those on top of a 331 plus a blower is probablygoing to spell disaster if its going in a stock block. Im running canfield 195's which flow a little better than the AFR185's and im not close to seeing the full potential of the heads. The combo your talking about will pull 550 at the wheels on any decent amount of boost which not too many people are comfortable running in the stock block

yeah 185's are good for a 331, 205's are better on a stroked windsor

yup... 185 is the way to go

as the car sits now... on street tires ... it'll run low 14's , w/ a set fo cheater slicks.. get the sixty down to about 1.70 and you should run somewhere around 13.20-13.60

you'll need 400-500 hp to run low to mid 11's

stroking plus the blower will do it easily. do yourself a favor and have the heads exhaust ports worked well, do a comp valve job and smooth the intake runners for better flow, don't open them up too much though. then match the intake to the heads.

you'll hit your mark easily, i'm sure you know that vert needs to be caged when you break 13.49
