Changing a fuel filter

Changing a fuel filter
Is it necessary to depressurize the fuel system before changing the fuel filter?? I heard you have to start the car and then pull the fuel pump relay while the engine's running so that all the lines depressurize and you won't rupture any lines when's you take the old filter off

never heard of that man, just get up under there and pop off the clips , slide the hoses off , slide em on the new filter and replace the clips... all done. ....then when you go to start the car ...just turn the key forward to let the fuel pump pressurize..(do it a couple times if you want) .. then start it.
all your doing by pulling the relay is turning off the pump and running the fuel out thats in the lines so it dont leak out as much as you swap the filter.not necesary to go thru all that IMO...
