Default gas mileage

so i just figured out that im getting 13 mpg on the highway which is too low even for a stang. I'm going to replace my fuel filter tomorrow and throw in some treatment, i've got new plugs and the air filter looks ok, should i be checking my o2 sensors?

if it's the 88 in your sig..run a koeo/koer test and check for codes first before throwing parts at it

Somethings not right if you have a bone stock 5.0 and only get 13mpg on the highway. I would go over everything. Complete tune up is a good place to start.

Default RE: gas mileage

I get 12-14 in my 83 carbed setup with a c4 and 2.73's crusing at about 50-60mph (2000-2500 rpms)most of the time. That is with some racing around too. Even with driving on the highway some of the time crusing at 70-80 (2750 +rpms). Basicly you should be getting alot better. But the question is do you run with your foot thru the floor everywhere or do you drive it around nice and easy with that milage?

Default RE: gas mileage

i was going between 100-125km/h the whole drive probably only WOT twice in 500km just to have some fun but almost the whole trip i was crusing around 110km/h so around 70 mph i think. i was very easy on the gas pedal, o and i also looked at my OBD 1 port today to connect a scan tool and realized that one of the wires was pulled out and had a piece of electrical tape on the end and the connector is all corroded so im gonna grab a new one from the junkyard tomorrow and then pull the codes, also replacing the fuel filter tomorrow.
