Default Help?

I have an 82 4-speed with a 347 Stroker. It has a rear end with 2.88 gears. It is being replace with a 8.8 with 4.10 gears. Should I go ahead and do this or should I put 3.55 or 3.73 on. The reason I am changing it is because it has a huge top end cam and it goes through clutches. Another possibility is I could leave it like it is and either put in a new cam or a Cobra 10 clutch. [sm=headbang.gif][sm=helpout.gif] I don't know what to do. This is a daily driver that I street race. I want something that will get up and go from start and beat the hell out of all the civics runnin around here like they are the best things in the world. I need professional help, and from what I've seen there are quite a few pros. at this site. [sm=sigh.gif] What to do, what to do...

Default RE: Help?

some guys try to get to technical about gears and say"well these do this
and these do that" i say bull****. i personally think gears are preference.
i like the 4.10 gear ratio but that is me. it sounds like you want to go with
the 8.8 rearend and 4.10 setup then try that first don't screw with the engine.
