Default How are the stock heads?

87 gt. Do the stock heads flow well at all? I was going to pull them and clean them up, cut the valves, polish the ports and bowl blend. Worth it much? Its all free for me. Gasketsare the only cost.

Stock 302 heads flow well enough to pour molasses through them, unless they're GT40 or P's. If it's free for you and money is tight, then a little port work can't hurt if it's done right. But if you have the money, invest in some good heads.

I really dont care to put any money into the car. Its my daily driver. My pickup is my hot rod. I just want to get a little more pep out of it basicly stock.

The stock E7TE Ford head castings flows an asthmatic 156 cfm on the intake side at .500. They are solid heads that for decades have performed flawlessly everyday, but need a little help to get them to breath. Thumper Performance can take your Ford E7TEs and get them to out perform out-of-the-box GT40 series and some expensive aftermarket heads AND for less than the cost of the new heads. To learn more, click the links below to learn how.

check them out
you can gain @ 15-20hp from a home port job but if you are going to go through the trouble of taking the E7TEs off I would not put them back on. Just my .02

Ya theyre not worth the time to get them off and money to get work done on. If you want some cheap hp and want to take the heads off. Find some junkyard gt40p's and get a bit of work done to them. You will need different headers but good bang for the buck.
