Default New Barry Grant Mighty Demon Woes

It had a huge lean stumble and was lean everywhere.
When i rev it up at idle it would hesitate really bad! Even worse when under a load.
I noticed the shooters had a weird spray pattern. Took the shooters off
and couldn't believe what i found. It looked like a kid drilled the holes. They had burrs and weren't uniform in anyway. They looked nothing like my holley.
Here are some pics:
douglas387 - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I took the ones off my holley and that fixed my stumble.
I took the carb apart to change the jets and i found fine shavings when removed a plate.
What a nitemare!

My job is quality control for an aircraft company. Finding this kind of quality in such a high priced part drives me nuts.

I emailed Barry Grant tonite and i can't wait to see how this can get any worse.

Well, I have heard/seen nothing but **** with the holleys. We have put a few on at the shop, and all of them have had problems. We recommend Edelbrocks to anybody who has a car anywhere close to being stock. But I actually like my Demon, except that the secondaries dont open all that well, but that is because I have vacuum secondaries and a very large cam.

thats because holley's arent ment to be just thrown on and thats it. they require tuning from the jets secondary spring power valve accelerator pump, the edlebrocks can be just thrown on and thats it they dont need to be tuned but once you tune the holley it will out preform an edlebrock in every way possible
