bad luck with fuel injectors
well i was drivin a couple hours ago and i went to get on it a little, when my car just died. it smelled like it was flooded so i tried waiting a little to see what happened, but no luck. i opened the hood to see the fuel injector on cylinder 2 with a little puddle of gas around it. well i bought a new injector but it says i need to release fuel pressure etc. before replacing. how should i go about replacing the injector? any tips will help out a lot.
thanks
by the way its an 88 gt if that makes a difference

RE: bad luck with fuel injectors
their is a valve behind the alt, take the black cap off of it, get an old rag, a small screw driver and hold the rag under and around the valve and push the valve in and it will release the pressure, it is located on the fuel line and it is the same thing as a valvestem on a tire. then take the upper intake off and place it aside, make shure to mark you lines and wires if you dont know where thye go, but after you take the upper intake off their are 4 little bolts that hold the fuel rails down to the lower intake remove them and then the fuel rails should pull up, pull on it easy wiggle the injectors around and they will come out, try to keep the injectors in the fuel rails it is easyer to put them into the intake then push them back into the rails. that should sum it up, sry its a lil long.

RE: bad luck with fuel injectors
i am having a similar issue with my 86 capri with a 5.0 ho i just recently installed a 65mm throttle body on it and it has not been running right since... when im at a dead stop and stomp the gas the car bogs down like its not getting enough fuel... i didnt think that replacing the throttle body would cause that.... i was wondering if anyone has had this happen and which route would be better to go at first a higher volume fuel pump or larger injectors. i am new to mustangs as far as owning one and fixing them up can anyone help??????
