problems with my 89 gt
im having some problems with my 89 mustang gt 5.0. it runs perfectly fine when it is in park or neutral but as soon as i put in reverse or drive it idles very rough and then stalls. the mechanic recommended i have the cats replaced and so i did but i have the same problems. i dont know what to do... any suggestions??

^^^^I wouldn't take your mechanics advice on that one...first thing I'd have done is run a koeo/koer test and check for codes..if none exist..I'd check the IAC motor and or clean it but more so sounds like you may have a vaccum leak somewhere or a load sensitive misfire brought on by bad secondary ignition components
