Rear shocks?

When I bought my 5.0 it had Monroe shocks on it. A while back I did the ole "push down on the rear to test the shocks" and the rear end dropped like it had no shocks. After a couple of shoves the shocks built up resistance and felt normal. So I replaced them. These new shocks feel the same way. Is this normal for the valving for our shocks?
Will the Tokicos from aMach or Cobra work on our cars? Will they improve the ride?

RE: Rear shocks?

What you need to do in that test is bounce on the car and then watch it come to a stop. After you stop bouncing on it it should come back to the top and stop pretty quick. Mine will extend and then come back to the position they started at instantly. I have some brand called Red Rider but they look brand new. They have age to them but very little milage because I have had the car for about 7 years now and they were there when I bought the car.

They just have that momentary feel like it has no shocks when you initially "bonce" it.

that's normal..general rule of thumb doing the bounce test is if it travels more than 3 cycles = up , down ect ect.. then shocks are to be replaced:D
