Default Wideband O2 Sensor

Hey, I'm looking for a wideband O2 sensor to tune my soon to be tweecer equipped 95 GT and I would like to know where to find these things. Also, do I need 2 sensors to measure both banks or just get by with welding a bung in the H-pipe. Thanks!!!!!!!

You can use 1 o2 sensor in either side of the pipe. Basically it will be setup to tell you the a/f ratio of the bank on whatever side you run it. Then base your tuning off of that one bank. The most recent setup I did was welding the bung on the passenger side pipe & tuning it off of that bank only.

If you weld it on the H instead of the header make sure you have a very good seal in all of the pipe before the o2 otherwise it will read that you're running very lean.

If you're on a budget I would recommend the aem 6 in 1 (you can find them on ebay for around $200) or Summits wideband kit. Both come with the bosch sensor, a controller, & digital gauge. Both are around $250 after shipping & are pretty good.

LC-1 or LM-1 from Innovate are 2 more options...
LC-1 can be found for $200...

The summit one uses the lc-1 controller, but it also comes with a gauge unlike the lc-1 kit.

1) The basic LC-1 kit ($199) includes the LC-1, sensor, cd which includes software and manuals, bung and plug, and a serial cable to connect to the PC. 2) The Standalone Gauge Kit ($399) includes the LC-1, sensor, XD-16 digital gauge, cd which includes software and manuals, bung and plug, and a serial cable to connect to the PC

Keep in mind for engine managements with a wideband o2 reading you have to calibrate the controller to have the same voltage range to match what the computer has.
like the controller may be set at 0v = 8:1 a/f - 5v = 22.4:1 a/f whereas the computer thinks 0v = 10:1 a/f - 5v = 20:1 a/f which will make your reading way off.

I'm about 98% sure you're going to have to calibrate it for the computer
So the digital gauge is helpful. Worth the extra $50 imo... plus you get a cool led & switch used for free air calibrating

Thanks a lot for the input! So, if I get the set up from summit with the guage and LED built in. Do I still need to calibrate the tweecer so they both use the same values like 0v= 7.35 A/F or can I just use the guage as I tune it so I know how close I am to 14/1??? Thanks again!

no, you have to change the transfer values, in caledit or calcon, forget which one you change it in, its a big pita, i use BE and EA (binary editor and EECanalyzer, which make tuning much easier) and it was simple to get the guage and datalog dead o with each other.

on 5.0 liters, what bank should the wideband be located, or which side tends to run lean?

Sorry for the late reply.
The LC1 uses two different outputs that you can use for two different purposes. For instance you can set one to run lets say 0v = 8:1 a/f, 5v = 22:1 a/f & set the other to lets say 0 = 10:1 & 5 = 20:1. It's very very easy to do.
I had to do this for a standalone. You adjust the output reading on the wideband controller.

You can also set it to where the stock computer would work with it & make it to where it reads like a narrowband.'

BTW, the summit gauge does not have the LED's It just has a digital #.
