302 or 351W

I want to do some engne work on my 86 GT. My question is what do guys think would be a better swap. If I leave the 302 in it I will carburate it with a cam and heads. The same story goes for the 351W.

Thanks

Rick Nagel

I would say stick with the 302 unless you have money to pay for gas.

The motor has 114000 KM on it. The oil press is good and the valve train is quite. I haven't done a comp test yet but I should. The rear main is leaking as well as the valve covers. It runs good other than the random high idles and whatnot (typical ford fuelies). Plus it has an AOD behind it which is going to be swaped for a T4 or T5.

I would keep the 302 for just a daily driver.

dude keep the 302 and fix the oil leaks i have a good friend with a 86 gt ho t-5 and it has 146k on it and she keeps up with my 302 that is fresh they are sweet motors. Plus you can do so much for so little to a 302 compared to a 351w .
