Ok im trying to get my stock shifter off so i can put on my new steeda tri ax, but i cant get the old one off....ive got the inner boot off and everything but i just cant get the shifter itself to come out because i cant get the bolts holding it to the tranny off, im using a 13mm wrench to get it off but i cant get it to budge at all..is there any tricks or anything to get the bolts to budge?

Use a socket with a 13mm when you bust them lose you might have to go under the car with a long flat head screw driver and tap the old one off. The bolts holding the shifter down should break lose with little effort..

I think TQ spec is like 10 to 20lbs should bust right off. Make sure you are straight on the bolt not at an angle. And put some *** in it.lol

rock it from side to side, not front to back and it should come right off. a little prying might be needed.

Try to smack it up from the bottom with a hammer and long screwdriver
