get a relay and wire it to switched 12v to run pump and mount pump in a safe place at rear = works better as a pusher vs puller...and holley blue needs to be used with a regulator

No, wrong.
That 255LPH pump is an injection pump.
A carb pump will not have as much pressure as carbs don't need more 7# ever.
Use the Holly blue with it's regulator AFTER you get the 255 out of the tank.
I agree with the relay idea too....

Some one may correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Joel is using the stock in tank EFI pump, with a return type regulator (5 - 7 psi), and it works fine?. That's what I was planning on doing to my 89?. If that won't work,I'll do like I did on my Son's 86 F150, install the Holley blue as close to the tank and as low aspossible, disconnect the EFI pump and use that wire for the blue pump (I believe this keeps the relay and inertia switch intact), and install a regulator near the carb. I left the old pump in the tank, and the holley pump siphons the fuel through the disconnected pump with no problem, eliminatingthe need for a custom fuel pickup or a sump in the tank. This hasbeen working for 2 years now on the F150, and it's a daily driver.

Considering carbs have been around 5x longer than EFI, I'd have to say the carb is the tried and true. They each have their advantages.
