How to identify an HO 302
Is there an easy way to tell if you have a 302 HO?

Isn't that a 5.0 engine? If you don't get an answer here, try posting in the 5.0 section.

the ho obviously has roller lifters, but these are not easy to see with the engine put together. It also has the same firing order as the 351. I dont know it off hand. As far as I know, all 302s from 85 and up are hos. I am sure there are other ways to tell though.

you can tell by the firing order, if it is 13726548 it is a ho.
or if the motor is stock under the plate that says 5.0 on the intake, there should be a ho casting on it.

all v8 mustangs have a 5.0HO from 1979-1995.
in 81-82 there was a 4.2liter v8, as well as the 5.0
