What do you mean by that they float after 5300 rpm? My AOD doesn't go that far, so will I have to worry about that if I install them?[sm=insomnia.gif]

adding a different roller rocker ratio will not change your duration. yes duration starts at .050 lift. 1.7 1.6 rockers will not change when the valve starts to lift it changes total valve lift. when the valve starts to lift and ends has nothing to do with the rocker ratio just changes valve lift that is all. go read some books

yes it does not change the actual duration on the cam, obviously.Though it does in essance change duration though, for reasons previously stated.

yea i thought about it a little more later. but how would the lifters get passed up by the lobes? valve floats been something thats bothered me cause i've never quite understood how it happens. but like you've said before why even rev a stock 5.0 that high power drops off around 4500

the valve springs arent strong enough to push the valves back into their seats when moving that fast and basically stays open "floating"

ok, got it. so in other words if you get better rocker arms etc get stiffer springs in addition to avoid float
