Default Power Steering Issue's

Ok here's the scenerio. My power steering pump was squeeling like a pig and leaking from the front of the pump.
I just put a new pump on today and bled the system. This damn thing is still squeeling with the new pump. My car is a 87 GT by the way. Do all foxbody's have this issue? Why is it still squeeling with a brand new pump. Could the rack be going bad?

My new Napa pump came with a card that said to allow 500 miles for break-in. Drive it for awhile and see what happens.

Yeah, I just put a new Napa pump on my wifes car and it's noisey also. I have a trick I'm gonna try from my BG distributor. We'll see if it works.

BTW, you know what NAPA stands for right?

I figured Napa was a better choice than Autozone/Advanced... From the looks of the Napa pump its probably the same rebuilder though. All covered in 1/8" of horrible black paint.

I haven't fired mine yet, but when I do it will have lucas and synthetic in it. Lucas Oil always quiets down all but the worst of the FWD GM stuff. It even helped my OE pump out a bit until it got REALLY loud.

Most Ford pumps do squeel, did you use synthetic fluid?

my pump is quiet.. got it from napa too.....are you sure it's the pump or maybe it's a tensioner pulley or smog pump or could be a glazed belt.. i'd try a new belt first.. seen that many times

No I just used regular power steering fluid. I am positive it is the pump squeeling. But I will try a new belt and drain all the fluid out and try synthetic fluid.
