Foglights and headlights turn off while driving.

im just wondering if someone can tell me the reason in my 93 GT. when i have the headlights and fogs on. the headlights turn off with the fogs and the parking lights are on. if there any certified ford techs... please let me know what part i need to buy to fix this issue. my visability is cut in half because my mustang has tinted lenses and i need the fogs to enable me to see better. thanks...

cant say for sure but you may need a headlight switch but it could be loose wires somewhere you can only be sure if you get it checked out or you could just throw the money at it and buy a new switch and see if that does the trick

Head Light switch..... the current being drawn through the switch is heating it causing it to not function intermittently. Although a better solution would be to wire in a relay and pull power from the Batt instead of through the switch.

After driving with both headlights and driving lights on for a while, both the headlights and the driving lights will flicker and then turn off. If I turn off the lights for a few minutes they will come back on. This doesn't happen if I use only the headlights. Only if I use the driving lights at the same time.

A:You need to wire in a relay for powering the driving lights..... too much current is being drawn through the headlight switch and overheating it.... Ed

^^^ he is most likely right ..there was a TSB on this and the factory wiring is not ample to meet the needs/ current draw the lights require..continued uses can short out fuse box eventually;)
