Ok, i've asked this before but just got a bunch of different answers. So if anyone knows the answer for sure, and it isnt just your assumption, please explain what the numbers mean?
Also what gears does a stock 5.0 GT manual trans have in it?

These numbers are what you get when you do the math of; the number of teeth on ring gear divided by the number of teeth on the pinion.
In praticle terms, it is the number of times the driveshaft must turn to rotate the rear tires once.

the way it helps you is by increasing the torque multiplier at the wheels.
2.73 gears , driveshaft rotates 2.73 times per revolution of the wheels, wheels also output 2.73 times more torque than the driveshaft inputs.
3.73s or 4.10 etc... just increase this number, now you are multiplying the torque even more and not only that, you get into your powerband faster because the engine has to turn more revolutions per revolution of the wheel. gears are the single most important mod on a 5.0.
its expressed as a ratio 3.73:1 or 4.10:1 etc...
